About Us
The Dinghy Dames were chartered in 1970 as an organization of women dedicated to sailing. The membership consists of women members and non-members of the Davis Island Yacht Club.
The Dinghy Dames is a member of the Florida Women's Sailing Association, an organization that represents ten sailing clubs in Central Florida. Other member clubs are met in competition several times yearly.
During our calendar year Dinghy Dames sail Prams and Sunfish on Tuesday mornings. We also have opportunities to take lessons and crew on other types of boats. We compete with each other, compete in interclubs, and have fun sailing expeditions. We volunteer at the yacht club as needed and have several festivities which include sailing, awards and great food.
